Our Vision
Indigo Earth Foundation was created in 2025 as the natural and logical extension of the support and assistance provided to wildlife and conservation initiatives over the years by Indigo Safaris and its founder, Christopher Bartlett.
Its mission is to continue these actions on a sustainable, structured, and broader scale.
The vision and objectives of the foundation are deeply connected to those of its founder — reflecting his values, history, and lifelong commitments.
Main FOCUS AREAS
We identify, support, and promote organizations and projects that make a tangible difference on land, in the ocean, and within communities.
Projects and partners are carefully selected directly in the field, based on their relevance, vision, and measurable impact.
Our actions focus on five key areas:
Community Projects
Developing local entrepreneurship, improving livelihoods, and supporting self-reliance.
Marine Conservation
Preserving coral reefs, marine biodiversity, and the livelihoods connected to the sea.
Wildlife Conservation
Protecting endangered and iconic species, restoring ecosystems, and supporting field-based conservation teams.
Improving lives through wildlife conservation
We believe that protecting nature means improving the lives of people. By supporting initiatives where conservation directly improves livelihoods, we help create a world where communities and wildlife thrive together, sharing the same land, water, and future.
Effecting wildlife conservation through human development
True conservation begins with people.
When local communities benefit from healthy ecosystems and are given the tools to sustain them, they become the strongest guardians of the wild places they call home.
Enhancing educational opportunities through investment
Education creates opportunities and understanding.
By supporting access to education and environmental awareness, we empower new generations to build a sustainable future for themselves, where knowledge inspires respect for nature.
Developing local entrepreneurship
We see local entrepreneurship as a powerful tool for change.
By supporting small business owners and community leaders, the foundation helps people build sustainable livelihoods, gain independence, and take charge of their futures.
Assisting animals in danger
Every species has a role to play in the balance of life.
We support organizations that rescue, rehabilitate, and protect vulnerable animals, ensuring they receive the care, safety, and respect they deserve.
OUR MISSION STATEMENTS

From a geographical standpoint, the foundation’s areas of action mirror the historical regions of engagement and interest of Indigo Safaris and its founder: Southern and Eastern Africa, Papua New Guinea, as well as destinations where safaris and scuba diving expeditions have long been organized, such as Madagascar, the Maldives, and Dominica.
Geographical Focus

A central belief of the Indigo Earth Foundation is that wildlife and marine ecosystems can coexist harmoniously with human communities, provided that conservation efforts directly benefit and empower those communities.
When people understand the wildlife that surrounds them and when that understanding translates into tangible improvements in their livelihoods, they become its most dedicated guardians.
There are no better guardians than the communities who live closest to nature.
This is a virtuous and essential cycle, essential for preserving both our planet and its biodiversity.
Conservation cannot exist without people. Improving human lives is a key success factor in wildlife and marine conservation.
A Human CENTERED APPROACH

Education is another cornerstone of the foundation’s philosophy.
By providing knowledge, creating opportunities, and helping children shape a better future, education contributes, directly or indirectly, to the protection of wildlife and ecosystems.
THE ROLE OF EDUCATION

Above all, this is a human adventure.
The foundation personally meets and collaborates with the individuals behind each partner organization — people who are genuinely committed and transparent in their actions.
Genuine connection, shared goals, communication, and integrity are key criteria when selecting projects and initiatives.
HUMAN CONNECTIONS

The foundation consists of charitable entities and associations based in the United States, the United Kingdom, and France, enabling tax benefits for donors and thereby increasing support for conservation initiatives.
-
100% of donations are transferred to the chosen initiatives.
-
Donors can select the specific organization or project they wish to support.
-
We are committed to full transparency, reporting regularly on how funds are used and what has been achieved. Indigo Earth Foundation also receives direct donations from Indigo Safaris, ensuring continuity of the principles on which it was founded.
TRANSPARENCY

Indigo Earth Foundation is open to new partnerships and initiatives that align with its mission and values.

PARTNERSHIPS & COLLABORATION

Indigo Earth Foundation believes there is no such thing as a small action.
Each action matters.
Each contribution matters.
Together, they create a ripple effect, a chain of positive change.
Due to its origins, the foundation focuses primarily on small, remote projects where each contribution has a substantial and tangible impact.
These organizations simply need additional resources, structure, and visibility, which the Indigo Earth Foundation is committed to providing.
