At Indigo Earth Foundation, every action we take is guided by a set of values that define who we are and what we stand for.

They reflect the beliefs of our founder, Christopher Bartlett, and the philosophy that has shaped both Indigo Safaris and the foundation itself: human development and environmental conservation are inseparable.

Our VALUES

Because people and nature thrive together.

We believe that wildlife conservation can only be achieved through human development.

This guiding principle stems from the conviction that people and nature are interdependent. When communities thrive, wildlife thrives too.

Protecting ecosystems improves lives — and education becomes the foundation for a sustainable future.

Humans are not a threat to conservation. They are its greatest opportunity.

By empowering communities, supporting education, and fostering local entrepreneurship, we help people become long-term guardians of wildlife and the environment.

This is the virtuous circle at the heart of all the initiatives we support.

Wildlife Conservation Through Human Development

Because trust builds impact.

Transparency is one of our strongest commitments.

We are committed to clear, open, and honest communication about how funds are used and invested in the initiatives we support.

Since its creation in 2025, the foundation has received financial support from Indigo Safaris, in order to contribute to the projects we fund.

Part of this support is invested in the Indigo Earth Foundation resources to promote the projects it supports through awareness and outreach campaigns, and to build a sustainable financial model that maximizes donor impact, through tax-efficient giving in the US, UK, and France, and

We guarantee that 100% of all donations (excluding credit card payment fees) go directly to the chosen organizations, with no administrative deductions.

Donors can choose the specific causes or projects they wish to support, ensuring both transparency and a personal connection to their impact.

 TRANSPARENCY

Because real change lasts.

We support projects that demonstrate a long-term and sustainable impact.

We seek initiatives that:

  • Empower people and provide them with the tools to shape their future.

  • Develop local entrepreneurship and economic independence.

  • Measure impact across social, environmental, cultural, and economic dimensions.

  • Turn individuals into long-term wildlife guardians through education and inclusion.

  • Demonstrate a clear vision for the future.

Sustainability also means ensuring the longevity of the foundation itself.

Indigo Earth Foundation is designed to outlive its founder, maintaining regular support for the initiatives we champion and continuing to promote his vision for generations.

SUSTAINABILITY

Because conservation starts within communities.

We believe that lasting change happens locally.

The foundation carefully evaluates each initiative’s relationship with its local ecosystem: communities, traditional leaders, administrations, and local authorities.

We prioritize partners that operate with strong governance, local leadership, and transparency.

Collaboration, mutual respect, and shared results are essential values for every project we support. When conservation is rooted in local engagement, it becomes stronger, fairer, and more resilient.

LOCAL COLLABORATION and GOOD GOVERNANCE

Because integrity guides our choices.

Indigo Earth Foundation is 100% independent.

All supported projects are selected freely, guided only by our core mission and ethical standards.

Our choices are based on impact, integrity, and alignment with our vision, not on external influence or financial interest.

This independence ensures that we can remain faithful to our founding principles: acting for wildlife, for people, and for the planet with honesty and purpose.

INDEPENDENCY

Because a healthy planet begins with healthy people.

The foundation also supports larger-scale initiatives that address fundamental human needs, including malaria prevention and access to clean water.

Improving health and dignity is essential to building resilient communities, and resilient communities are essential to conservation.

When people’s basic needs are met, they can focus on protecting and coexisting with nature.

Health, Water & Human Well-Being

Because every life matters.

As the dominant species on Earth, we have a duty to protect the vulnerable and preserve the balance of life.

The foundation places a strong focus on projects dedicated to the protection of threatened and iconic species.

Every life matters, from the smallest coral reef fish to the largest terrestrial mammal.

By helping to preserve biodiversity and maintain ecological balance, we ensure that future generations will continue to share the planet with wildlife.

Protecting them means protecting ourselves and the future we all depend on.
