HOW DO WE SUPPORT THEM?

Providing Annual Funding and Helping Coordinate Flight Angels

Indigo Earth Foundation supports this program through annual donations and by identifying flight angels for the program.

WHO ARE THEY?

Providing Rescue, Care, and Rehabilitation for Dominica’s Vulnerable Animals

Saint Nicholas Animal Rescue Dominica (SAARD) is a non-profit organization providing shelter and emergency after-hours rescue services for animals across the Commonwealth of Dominica. The team rescues, shelters, and rehabilitates sick, injured, abused, handicapped, and blind dogs.

For other rescued animals such as cats and birds, SAARD provides essential veterinary care and relies on foster homes due to limited on-site capacity.

Volunteer-Led Shelter Services, Veterinary Support, and International Adoptions

Run entirely by volunteers, SAARD is dedicated to improving and saving animal lives through compassionate care, emergency response, rehabilitation, and adoption programs.

Once dogs have fully recovered and received necessary treatments, the organization promotes their adoption locally and abroad. Some adoptions take place in the United States, SAARD arranges the entire transfer process with the help of flight angels, often tourists visiting Dominica who accompany the dogs to their new homes.

Donation-Driven Efforts

The organization relies heavily on donations to cover expenses such as medical treatments, food, and shelter. In-kind contributions are also welcome, including pet food, toys, equipment, bedding, collars, leashes, and medicines.
