HOW DO WE SUPPORT THEM?
Bringing Solar Power and Reliable Energy to Remote Sepik Villages
Indigo Earth Foundation provides support to the villages of Wagu and Kamindimbit. Solar panel systems have been installed to bring electricity to remote households, allowing families to carry out their evening tasks and enabling children to study after dark. The systems also provide the means to charge phones and maintain essential access to communication and information.
Expanding Educational Opportunities Through Scholarships
Educational scholarships are offered to support children in need, as well as high-achieving students, helping them pursue their education throughout their entire schooling.
WHO ARE THEY?
Building Genuine Partnerships With Remote Sepik River Communities
Captivated by the extraordinary diversity and cultural richness of Papua New Guinea, our founder, Christopher Bartlett, has explored numerous villages throughout the Sepik region and now organizes cultural trips primarily in the Middle Sepik area.
Each village included in these tours showcases its own distinctive traditions, art, and way of life, offering visitors meaningful opportunities to experience local culture firsthand and share in the daily activities of the communities through genuine collaboration with the villagers.
Supporting Villages With Limited Tourism, Resources, and Essential Services
Through his travels, Christopher has built authentic relationships with local partners and gained a deep understanding of their realities. He carefully identified the villages most in need of support, considering their level of exposure to tourism and their accessibility. These communities are among the most isolated in the region. Agriculture remains their main source of livelihood, while tourism, where it exists, is limited.
Access to essential services such as healthcare, education, and electricity is extremely scarce.
Indigo Earth Foundation believes that supporting these communities and their local initiatives can create lasting positive change.
