HOW DO WE SUPPORT THEM?
Sponsoring a Child Through Full Education, Nutrition, and Healthcare Support
Indigo Earth Foundation began its partnership with L'Île aux Enfants in 2025, sponsoring a child through a comprehensive support program covering education, nutrition, and medical care.
The Foundation is committed to accompanying this child throughout their entire schooling.
The initiative also welcomes one-time donations and appreciates any contribution.
Expanding Long-Term Assistance to Empower More Children
The Foundation aims to extend this support to many more children in the coming years, helping them build a brighter and more secure future.
WHO ARE THEY?
Barriers to Quality Education for Children in Madagascar
In Madagascar, the official entry age for primary school is six years old, and primary education typically lasts about five years, even though schooling is officially compulsory for children between the ages of six and fourteen. While primary education is free in principle, many families still face substantial expenses for uniforms, materials, and transport. Many schools also charge additional fees. Despite being mandatory, major challenges remain in terms of completion, quality, and equity.
An Educational Center Supporting Over 300 Disadvantaged Children
In this context, in the township of Antananarivo, L'Île aux Enfants, a French association founded in 2012, has built an educational center for disadvantaged children whose parents lack the means to provide proper care and education.
The center now supports over 350 children, offering:
4 kindergarten classes
5 primary school classes
4 middle school classes
3 high school classes
19 teachers
Community Development Programs Improving Access, Awareness, and Daily Well-Being
Beyond education, the association runs an information and guidance center to improve job opportunities through training programs, and contributes to local community development through:
Reducing accessibility barriers
Conducting awareness campaigns
Providing emergency aid during health crises
Distributing meals
Supporting neighborhood life
Their vocational training programmes benefit now nearly 40 young people.
Ile Aux Enfants Charity
Sponsoring Children from the Township of Antananarivo, Madagascar
Providing access to education despite difficult circumstances helps shape a better future. In Antananarivo, Madagascar's capital, a French association has established an educational structure, from kindergarten to high school, that welcomed and educated more than 300 children in 2023. The association relies on donations and invites sponsors to commit 30 euros per month, which covers a child's full program of education, meals, and medical care. It maintains a personal connection between donors and children through regular letters, photos, and videos, and even encourages sponsors to visit and see firsthand the impact of their support.
